Charity Shoot-Out
2008 GoGirlGo.com Charity Shoot-Out
To give back to the local charities supported by the Monterey Peninsula Foundation and to involve the professional golfers participating in the AT&T tournament with our local charities, the Foundation hosted the GoGirlGo.com Charity Shoot-Out on February 5, 2008. Prior Foundation grantees were invited to participate in a Qualifier held earlier; 80 amateur golfers representing the grantees participated in a closest-to-the-pin competition. The four winners of the Qualifier were represented by the four professional teams in the Charity Shoot-Out, and there were purses for both the professional teams and the charities. The winning charities’ amateur golfers who participated in the Qualifier served as leaderboard carriers for their teams.
The teams and their charities were:
- Billy Andrade and Chris DiMarco – Community Oral Health Services
- Jonathan Byrd and Tommy Gainey – NCGA Foundation
- Steve Elkington and Joey Sindelar – Animal Friends Rescue Project
- David Frost and Paul Stankowski – The Museum of Art & History at the McPherson Center
Pro Team Steve Elkington and Joey Sindelar won $40,000 for Animal Friends Rescue Project. >
